SUMMER!
I've created blogs in the past, but I've never kept up with them. I really enjoy reading other people's blogs. I hope to keep up with this blog, unlike those of the past. We'll see how it goes! Summer break is almost here and like any teacher, I am very much looking forward to it. My 3 (almost 4!) year old and I will be doing a lot of things outside, now that we have proper patio furniture and a nice big umbrella. We live in such a beautiful area, so we will take sand toys and picnic lunches to local bay beaches. Speaking of beaches, we are only 1 1/2 hours from MD and Delaware "Ocean" beaches, so we will have to do those, too. It's great to live only an hour from both D.C. and Baltimore, so we will be going to children's museums, the Science Center, etc. There are some thing around the house that need to get done, such as: installing a backsplash in our kitchen, fixing the ceiling in our living room (water damage) and installing a fan in the living room. What I'm most excited about this summer is our trip to Disneyworld in early July! I haven't gone on a "big vacation" in about 3 years, so I'm due for one. Ellie is the perfect age to experience the magic of Disney. She has known about the trip for quite some time and we have gradually been stocking up on Disney apparel- backpack, shirts, sandals, sunglasses, beach towel, costumes, nightgown, etc. I never thought I would be one to do that, but it's been fun. :) A couple weeks after we get back from Disney (and recover!), we will have Ellie's "Frozen 4th Birthday Party". Like the majority of 3 year old girls, she is pretty much obsessed with Frozen. She wants to wear her Elsa costume, but we'll see how long she lasts in the late July heat. A couple of mom friends have told me I'm brave to host 30 something people (10-15 kids, included) at my house. A week or so after her party, E and I will go to TN for a few days to see my parents. I haven't been "home" in a year and a half. I'm looking forward to it. I haven't seen my sister since then and I really miss her. A couple weeks after we get back, it will be time to go back to school! I feel it will be a really good summer and I'm eagerly anticipating its arrival. :)
